Experience the Ultimate Kickin’ It at The Keller Lights Fireworks Show

Keller Lights 2023

We recently had the pleasure of attending the annual Fireworks show presented by The City of Keller, and let us tell you, it was an event to remember! We knew this year’s show would be special from the moment we arrived. An incredible buzz was in the air, and excitement filled every corner of the venue.

Of course, indulging in delicious food is one of our favorite aspects of any event, and The Keller Lights Fireworks Show did not disappoint. We made a beeline for the food trucks, where we found some Keller staples like JR’s BBQ n More, Hook & Ladder Pizza, and Crown Tacos. These iconic food trucks added an extra layer of culinary delight to an already unforgettable evening.

But it wasn’t just about the food. The event was jam-packed with activities for the entire family. From kids’ activities to local businesses showcasing their offerings, there was never a dull moment. We had the chance to sample some products at Your CBD Store, and GEICO Keller had fantastic giveaways for the little ones. It was a true celebration of community and local businesses coming together to create a memorable experience.

Local Entertainment

The night kicked off with a captivating performance by the Keller Area Jazz Orchestra (KAYJO). Their incredibly talented musicians set the stage for an evening of pure musical bliss. Performing right on the steps of the City Hall. If you missed their performance, don’t worry; they’ll be showcasing their talents again at Venture Church for a special “Christmas in July” event. It’s an excellent opportunity to enjoy their music while contributing to a worthy cause by donating toys. The event is FREE.

Shortly after their performance, there was a hot dog eating contest where last year’s champion returned to defend his title. It was a classic 4th of July tradition we had seen many times with the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating Contest in Coney Island, but Keller residents came out to compete, and it was a sight to see in person. I don’t know how they do it!  It was a crowd favorite, especially for the kiddos to root for who they hoped to win.

Hey there City Council!

As we wandered through the crowds, we were thrilled to run into some familiar faces. Shannon Dubberly, Ross McMullin, and Jessica Juarez from the City Council were just a few. Also, in the middle of the crowd was Mayor Armin Mizani, enjoying the evening alongside friends and family, truly embodying the community spirit.

The night couldn’t have been better, from the perfect weather to the delectable food, the company of friends and families, and the stunning fireworks. The City of Keller truly outdid itself, delivering another incredible year of entertainment in Texas’s most family-friendly city.

As we reflect on our experience at The Keller Lights Fireworks Show, we can’t help but express our gratitude to the city of Keller. Their dedication to creating memorable community events is unmatched, and we can’t wait to see what they have in store for us next. Until then, we’ll cherish the memories we made and eagerly await the next opportunity to Kick It in Keller!
