Keller’s First Hispanic/Latino Heritage Celebration

We are so excited to share the wrap-up from an incredible event put on by the Kickin’ It In Keller team and partners. Keller has never seen a Hispanic/Latino Celebration in the past. So we thought it would be a great way to connect the community with this fun and family-friendly event filled with food, music, and celebration!

It started with an idea just four weeks before the National recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, from September 15th to October 15th. After launching our Kickin’ It Partnership program for businesses and professionals, we pitched to the group, and they said YES, Keller needs this. So, together we collaborated with businesses, community members, and leaders to see this idea through and bring it to the community on September 30th. The feedback along the way was inspiring, and the event day was nothing short of amazing! Not only did the Hispanic and Latino community within Keller and surrounding towns show up in excitement, but people from all backgrounds came to celebrate together!!

We wanted to shine a light on not only the culture, food, and entertainment but also the people that run the businesses we know and love locally.

This event was sponsored and created by locals! To me, that was the coolest part. The success of it genuinely was everyone coming together and seeing this through from every aspect. I can’t thank everyone enough for being such incredible support to an idea that became a reality and was done so very quickly.

Our Platinum sponsor is a well-loved family in the community, Nick & Stephanie Martinez. They are the owners of The Little Gym of Keller. Their sponsorship was an essential part of us having an incredible headliner, world-renowned Flamenco Guitarist Christopher Mcquire, and Vocalist Yobahn

Our Gold Sponsor was GEICO Keller. Greg Hilst, the owner is a great asset in the community not, only as a business owner but, as a regular supporter as a sponsor of so many of the events in Keller we all get to enjoy. His staff are incredibly friendly and with their support and sponsorship we were able to provide amazing activity bags for the kids and their sponsorship helped support entertainment by Mariachi Aguilas

The location was absolutely perfect at Bear Creek Park. Kickin’ it off was Food & Beverages provided by JR’s BBQ n More, Crown Tacos, Crown Catering Beverage Truck, & 3F Premier Catering.

As you went along the park path you could check out the many businesses showcased.

G’s Headbands, Madrid Global Cleaning, Da Capo Music Lessons, Ohana Butterflies, Galvan Lash Studio, Southern Charm Boutique, The Zumba Instructors of Keller Pointe, Kickin’ It In Media Group, and Tarrant County Hispanic Angels

Once you made it to the beautiful Gazebo entertainment ranged from Mariachi, Flamenco & Vocalist, and a dance part y with The Zumba Instructors of Keller Pointe.

We were also so excited to so many of our council members, leadership, and even Mayor Armin Mizani. The Mayor so graciously presented us that evening with a proclamation from the city recognizing Hispanic/Latino Heritage Month in the town of Keller from Sept 15th to Oct 15th. We are excited to receive this first proclamation and are honored to be the first of what we hope to be an annual event for our Keller community.

The night ended with a raffle of donations provided by: The Confidence Beauty Bar, Madrid Global Cleaning, The Hampton Inn, Beauty Entourage, Hotworx Keller, and Gift Card Wine package from Paul Alvarado. 100% of the proceeds were donated that evening to The Tarrant County Hispanic Angels, a local non profit that supports the financial needs of families locally with medically ill children. We raised $450 for their organization.

Our additional sponsors include:

Council Woman Jessica Juarez- Jessica Juarez is a Councilwoman for Keller and Senior Associate Attorney at the Beal Law Firm. Sponsorship from Jessica went towards Decor for the event.

The Athletic Cafe– The newest cafe in town that is located inside The Birch Tennis and Racquet Club. Sponsorship covered marketing and promotions of the event.

The Moore Family- Raylene Moore helped spearhead the coordinating of the event along side Ashley Stone Hernandez. She also sponsored the permitting and necessary requirements for the event.

The Keller Republican Club– Sponsored the Police Officer required for the event

Beauty Entourage– Sponsored Marketing and additional raffles that benefited the Hispanic Tarrant County Angels.

Kickin’ It Media Group- Sponsored marketing, videography, and Lighting/Decor, & Insurance.

Yard Love North Fort Worth– Sponsored Signage

Overall, what a success and celebration! We are excited to bring more fun events to Keller and support our community as a whole in every way we can. It was an honor and privilege, and we are humbled by the love and support we were shown along the way. Thank you for being a part of this Kickin’ It Story, but, we wouldn’t be able to do what we do if it wasn’t for everyone doing what they do!

Til Next time!

Your Kickin’ It Team Captain,

Ashley
