Welcome to our first blog post! What better way to kick off our website and jump right into the community with our first family feature too. We are excited to launch the new website and highlight this family because they are a shining example of jumping right in too! Keller is made up of families, businesses, leaders, and more. Kickin’ It in Keller was imagined as a place of connection both virtually and in person. We hope to share those stories and showcase them in our Facebook group and right here for you to always reference as a resource or a warm fuzzy reminder you are in the right place.. You belong here!

Meet The Christophers

When Did you Move to Keller?

My husband Ric and I moved our family to Keller from Los Angeles in January 2020 less than two months before the start of the pandemic. Ric started a new position with Strategic Data Systems based right on Keller Parkway where he assists the company in providing IT support, and cybersecurity among other services to numerous US Department of Defense Organizations, other Federal Agencies, and commercial companies.

During our house hunt, we wanted to be close to the office and loved the excellent school district Keller offers and were lucky enough to find the perfect home here for our family of five and our beloved Labrador, Louie.

The decision to move to Keller was most certainly one that excited us as a family and we realized shortly after arriving here just how important that decision would prove to be as the world reacted and adjusted to living during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Are you a part of any organizations in town?

My husband and I are both involved in local sports. He is a softball coach with the Keller Youth Association and I am a coach with the Keller Soccer Association. I coach U9 and U12 teams.

My daughter Goldie is also the Lion’s Club Little Miss Keller. She loves being involved in the community. One of her proudest accomplishments was creating a fundraiser, “Goldies’s Giving” that raised $1600 for local teachers so they could purchase additional supplies for their classroom for the 21’-22’ School year. She had her big TV debut when she was featured on NBC5’s “ Carter In The Classroom,” with Wayne Carter. She also received recognition in the KISD quarterly newsletter and website.

Are you a local Keller Professional or Business Owner?

I am! I am a part of the Jeanie Anderson group with Compass. I am a licensed real estate agent.

What are your favorite things about Keller?

There are so many things! There is always something fun and family-friendly to do. From Keller summer nights in June to the Keller light parade in December. I love that I can work and play in my own community.

There are amazing bike and walking paths too. My family likes to stay very active. One of the other aspects of Keller that really hit home for us was the accessibility to local leadership, the stellar education, and the incredible teachers. Every aspect of the town embodies what it means to be a great community. We have many favorite things!

Thank you Sarah for sharing your story and your family! Sarah will also be joining forces with us to feature other families in town as well as be a part of our Kickin It Krew! Stay tuned for more to come.
